Originally, Hellfire was not meant for Human beings, but for Satan and his fallen rebellious Angels, but it behoves God to treat all sinners as equal. The bible says "then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels"
God loves us, he died for us to be saved, he would not want to see any of his creature perish, it pains him when we lost our souls to satan, but a great joy was always shared in Heaven anytime a soul comes back to God.
